ERL sponsors graduate students interested in understanding and solving applied problems related to the earth’s sub-surface. The lab develops techniques that have applications in areas such as: enhanced oil recovery, geological carbon storage, geothermal energy, and natural gas exploitation.
Students applying to the Earth Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS), Civil and Electrical Engineering (CEE) or Mathematics Departments and interested in an integrated approach to sub-surface characterization are encouraged to indicate their interest in ERL on their application form.
